Lived in Cheltenham, where he was a tax surveyor. A territorial soldier before the war, he was commissioned June 1916. He was killed during an attack on German trenches and is buried at Mill Road Cemetery, Thiepval.

Born 26th May 1892, in Cheltenham. A trainee teacher, he enlisted 1914 and was commissioned . Served at Gallipoli, Egypt and Mesopotamia. He was killed in the last attempt to relieve the garrison trapped at Kut-al-Amara. He is listed on the Basra Memorial.

 Seconded to the 145th Bde. Machine Gun Corps in June 1916. Aged 28. Born December 1887, son of Allan and Emily, of Carshalton, Surrey and Gloucester. Educated at Whitgift Grammar School, he joined the Peninsular and Oriental Steamship Company in 1907. He was first flautist with the London Shipping Orchestral Society, and member of the Choir of All Saints Church, Carlshalton. Enlisted in the London Rifle Brigade on outbreak of war and commissioned June 1915 in the Gloucesters. Seconded to the Machine Gun Corps early 1916. On 20th July 1916 he was leaving a dugout when he was killed by a shell. Buried at Bapaume Post Military Cemetery, Albert.
