Formed at Bristol September 1914.

1915

Bn left Warminster 20 Sept. by train for Folkestone. Embarked on RMS 'Queen' and landed at Bologne 21 September 1915. On 29 Sept. to Bonfray and into dugouts at Billon Wood and Carnoy.
First casualties: 1 Oct.
11650 Pte M. Norman, 'C' Coy. killed by shrapnel and Sergt. Waugh, 'D' Coy. received gunshot in right forearm.
11 Nov. Bn at Marseilles. Embarked on HMS Mars, sailed next. day. 18 Nov. ship reached Alexandria. Bn disembarked. 20 Nov. Bn re-embarked and sailed for Salonica. 25 Nov. Bn disembarked and marched to camp at Lembet. Working on defence lines and training.

1916

Work continued. Periods in Front Line, Reserve, constrution work, raids etc. Most casualties caused by enemy artillery.

1917

Work continued, including construction of railway lines. Periods in Front Line, Reserve, constrution work, raids etc. Most casualties caused by enemy artillery.

1918

Work continued. Periods in Front Line, Reserve, constrution work, raids etc. Most casualties caused by enemy artillery.
8 July Bn moved to Itea. 9 July Bn embarked on SS 'Amalone' and sailed to Taranto, Italy. 10 July disembarked and entrained at Cimini. 14 July arrived at Frontier-Ventimiglia, France. 16 Bn detrained at Serqueux.

21 Sept. Orders that Bn would convert to a Pioneer Battalion of the 66th Division. 6 Oct. Bn at Gillemont Farm. 19 Oct. Bn clearing debris and working on roads in the Le Cateau area.
11 Nov. Bn at Sars Poteries when Armistice comes into effect. 66th Div. to be a part of the Army of Occupation in Germany.
13 Dec. Bn at Ciney. Demobilisation commenced.

1919

25 Jan. Bn moved to Leichlingen. 16 Sept. Bn provided guards at Leverkusen POW Camp.
23 Oct. Bn HQ moved to Wiesdorf. 31 Oct. last entry in War Diary.
