"The adjoining screen was erected by the officers, Indian Police, NWFP, in memory of Thomas Andrew, Indian Police, who was killed in action against Bhittanis at Kota Bagh, near the Bannu border, on 10 Dec. 1921."

Willoughby Hemans AUSTIN - Officiating Suerintendent of Police, NWFP - shot during the Burma rebellion at Tharrawaddy District - 1930. Buried at Prome Cemetery. "Imperial Police Service. Joined the Burma Police on 30 Nov. 1921. Murdered, in early 1930, by rebels while carrying out his normal duties as District Superintendent of Police in the Prome District during the 1930 rebellion in Burma."

G.W. COLE, KPM - Superintendent of Police, U.P. - shot while arresting an armed murderer in Fatehgarh District - 1936. Posthumous King's Police Medal.

Arthur Clare FRYER, KPM - District Officer, Frontier Constabulary, NWFP - died of wounds recieved in action against outlaws at Dera Insmail Khan District - 27th March 1940. Posthumous King's Police Medal.

Jatindra Mohar GHOSH - Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bengal - shot by a terrorist outside his house at Mymensingh - 1915

Eric Charles HANDYSIDE, CIE, OBE, KPM & bar. - Commandant Frontier Constabulary, NWFP - shot when arresting outlaws near Peshawar - 11th April 1926. Awarded King's Police Medal in 1911 and Bar in 1916. His father was English and his mother Russian.

"In memory of Eric Handyside, Indian Police. Erected by his brother officers of the NWFP."
Plaque on the memorial gate at Kohat Pass -
"This gate was erected to the memory of Eric Charles Handyside, Commandant, North West Frontier Constabulary, who was fanous for many daring encounters with tribal raiders and outlaws, and was killed in action on 11 April 1926."

Denis Brownwell MURPHY, KPM - Assistant Superintendent of Police, NWFP - killed in the 'Red Shirt' riot at Mardan - 25th May 1930. Awarded the King's Police Medal in 1927.

"Sacred to the memory of Denis Brownell Murphy, Indian Police, who was killed while leading his men against a crowd of armed rioters near Gujar Garhi, Mardan, 25 May 1930. Aged 26 yrs 1 mth 10 days."

Frank Armstrong Abbott REYNOLDS - Superintendent of Police, Burma - captured and executed by the Japanese - 1944. Joined the Burma Police, 26 Nov. 1932. Parachuted into Burma to assist resistance forces. Captured and executed in 1944.

J.P. SAUNDERS - Assistant Superintendent of Police, Punjab - shot by terrorists outside Police Office, Lahore. Head Constable Chanan Singh was also killed when he came to his help.
