- Major-General Sir Thomas, KCB, KH - 40th Foot - died
22nd April 1845.
Grave at Bhowanipore - "Sacred to the memory of Major Genl. Sir
Thomas Valiant, KCB and KH Lieut-Col. of H.M. 40th Regt. who
departed this life in Fort William, Calcutta, on the 22d April
1845, aged 61 years, deeply and sincerely regretted by the
Regiment in which he served for a period of 18 years. This
monument is erected by his brother officers as a testimony of
their respect and esteem."
Vallance - Ian
Clement - Royal Artillery.
Grave at Quetta - "In loving memory of
Ian Clement Vallance. 86th Field Battery RA. Born 6 August 1902.
Died 14 July 1927 from an accident while playing polo. Educated
at Harrow."
Vallings -
Lieutenant George Augustus - Bengal Artillery - 22nd December
1846.
Tablet in St. Luke's Church, Jullundur - "Sacred to the
memory of George Augs. Vallings Lieut of the Regt of Artillery
who departed this life at Jullundur on the 22nd December 1846
aged 20 years. This tomb has been erected by a few of his brother
officers as a mark of their regard and esteem."
Vaughan
- Captain Edward Courtenay - 4th Bn. Rifle Brigade - died
3rd October 1876.
Son of the Earl of Lisburne. Born 23rd October 1841.
Grave at Ambala cemetery - "Sacred to the memory of Captain the Honble
Edward Courtenay Vaughan 4th Battn Rifle Brigade, who died at
Umballa on the 3rd October 1876, aged 35 years, erected by his
brother officers."
Vernor -
Major Robert - 2nd Dragoons (Scots Greys) - died 10th August
1827.
Captain at Waterloo, where he was wounded.
Grave at Inveresk Kirkyard, Scotland - "Sacred to the
memory of Major Robert Vernor, late of the Scots Greys, in which
distinguished corps he served upwards of thirty years. Died 10th
August 1827, aged 64 years. And of Elizabeth Vernor, his spouse,
who died the 10th April 1838, aged 75 years."

May 1862.

H.M. 74th Highlanders Who died on the 10th May 1862 Aged 39 years
Erected by his brother officers."
Vincent - Captain John - 16th Lancers - died 10th April
1833.
Grave at Bhowanipore - "Sacred to the memory of John Vincent Esq.
Capt. of H.M. 16th Lancers, he died in Fort William the 10th
April 1833, aged 31 years. This monument was erected by his
afflicted widow."

Captain John Haines - 90th Foot - Died 8th August 1887.
Grave at Nahan - "In memory of John Haines Vivian late Captain
of the 85th K.O.L.I. and of the 90th Scotish Rifles son of the
late Genl. Sir R.J.H. Vivian G.C.B. who died at Nahan on the 8th
August 1887."

General William John, V.C., C.B. - 5th Punjab Cavalry - died 12th November 1902.
Son of Lieutenant Thomas Vousden (Chatham Depot, ex-21st Foot
Sergeant-Major). Born in Perth, Scotland, 20th September 1845.
Served Jowaki 1877 (medal and bar), Afghanistan 1878 (medal and 2
bars, VC), Miranzai 1891 (bar), Tirah 1897 (medal and 2 bars), CB
1900.
Grave at Lahore - "To the glory of God and in memory of General
William John Vousden, V.C., C.B., late Commandant, 5th Punjab
Cavalry, whose brave and honest life in the service of his
sovereign and country closed at Lahore on the 12th November 1902."
Tablet in St. Augustine's
Church, Kohat - "Sacred to the memory of Brigr Genl William
John Vousden, V.C. C.B. Late Commandant 5th Punjab Cavalry He
served 30 years in the Regiment Commanded the Kohat Kurram Force
Officiated in command of the Punjab Frontier Force and as
Inspector General of Cavalry in India. Died at Lahore November 12th
1902 deeply regretted by all who knew him. This tablet is erected
by his brother officers of the 5th Punjab Cavalry as a token of
their affection and esteem."

1894.

Frederick Vyse, XXVII Punjab Infantry, who departed this life at
